Welcome to Aquatic Solutions and your upcoming Open Water Training Classes!


Congratulations!  You are about to prepare yourself for immersion into the amazing and beautiful underwater world!  Please review the following to help you in the proper preparation for this class. If you have any questions at all, comments to make, or if you need to reschedule your session even at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, please contact us. In the case of cancellation, your notification will allow us to offer your opening to another student waiting for instruction.


POOL CLASS CHECKLIST:

1. Complete the SDI Training Folder (download above) if you have not already done so.  Any medical questions that are answered "YES" will need a physician's sign off form which is also in a downloadable files avobe this section.

2. Receive your work booklet OR online code.  If you don't receive your code prior to the start of class, we will review the online course results when you have completed them.

CODE: Assigned once payment is received.  Click Here and submit $499 per person for payment.  Once submitted, a code for each student will be sent via email.    

3. Visit the link:  https://www.tdisdi.com/elearning  

   - Copy the codes provided into the page where it says ENTER CODE.

   - Create your SDI Online login account. Copy Paste your code if necessary.  

   - Set up your account, Affiliate yourself with Atlanta Scuba.

   - Remember your password for future SDI site access necessary to view your credentials or participate  in additional training.

4. Prep for the Swim and Survival Float Test: swim some easy laps, any stroke, to prepare for your swim and survival float exercises.  (Laps are not timed, however no rest stops are allowed and no fins are used).

Distance and Time requirement:

200-yard swim

10-minute tread

5. Upload a headshot for your Certification Card on the SDI training site.  If you do not do this prior to certification you will not have a picture on the card for easy verification.

6. Pack your swim attire & towel.

   - Your course fees include full use of shop rental gear.

   - Personal gear and scuba systems must be in working order and maintained within the last 12 months.

   - See Tyler for new, like-new, and satisfaction-guaranteed equipment packages.

7. Be ready to unpack gear and pack it back before and after class if necessary.

8. Suggestion: bring a beverage.

9. Be well-rested and well-hydrated.

10. Get ready to have fun and work hard.


POOL CLASS GOALS  

Pool class goals include the skills necessary for you to be prepared for your first confined water dive, the open water training that follows, and to attain your certification.  Syllabus timing and order may be altered to best address the needs of class participants of varying experience and abilities.  Based on our initial review some skills may be done in confined water just before your open water dives.  Your flexibility will be necessary and appreciated.

  - Homework review, pressure-volume-density review

  - Scuba gear assembly, weighting systems    

  - Dress for free lap swim 200 yards, and survival float 10 minutes   

  - Breathing off the regulator, donning the BC, inflation and deflation of the BC

  - Breathing yourself down, minimal weighting

  - Donning the mask, regulator skills at surface and at 4'

  - Mask skills at the surface and at 4'

  - Fin types, swimming skills - fin techniques, snorkel skills,

  - Out of Air emergency exercises (shared and CESA),

  - Weight system removal and replacement at surface and at depth, BC Removal and replacement at surface and at depth          

  - Compass swim

  - Pool/Deep water exit, dive entries,

  - Gear dis-assembly and assembly

  - Wetsuit orientation and weighting


Next Steps: 

After the confined water training, we will need to plan your options to complete the open water checkout dives.  Four open water dives must be completed over a 2-day period in order to complete certification.  These can be done locally, out of state or internationally!  In addition to these options, you can pick the location of your choice and we will supply you with a referral form.
